Travel Tips

Altitude Sickness Prevention

Ascend slowly, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and consider preventative medication after consulting your doctor. Know the symptoms and don't hesitate to descend if they appear.

Money Matters

Bring Nepalese rupees in small denominations for the trek. ATMs are available in Kathmandu and major towns but not on the trekking routes. Budget extra for souvenirs, tips, and unforeseen expenses.

Communication

Wi-Fi is available in most teahouses for a fee, but connectivity becomes less reliable at higher altitudes. Local SIM cards with data can be purchased in Kathmandu.

Electricity & Charging

Most teahouses offer charging facilities for a fee. A portable power bank is highly recommended. Nepal uses 220V with Type C, D, and M plugs.
